Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick oats
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix together oats and boiling water; set aside.
    Cream together the butter and sugars.
    Add eggs.
    Blend in dry ingredients and vanilla.
    Add oat mixture; blend well.
    Pour into nonstick sprayed 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
    While cake is still hot, spread topping on cake; allow to cool.
    Spread topping over cooled cake.
