Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. white cornsyrup
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Boil mixture until it forms a soft ball.
Pour over hot prune cake without beating.
(I like to use a low Pyrex dish for baking my cake, so as to leave cake in pan until ready to cut into blocks for serving.)
