Chocolate Pie For Angels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    3/4 c. chocolate chips
    3 Tbsp. hot water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. whipped cream
Preparation
    Sift sugar and cream of tartar.
    Beat egg whites stiff, but not dry.
    Add sugar very slowly while beating until smooth and glossy.
    Place in well buttered pie plate, making it thin in the bottom and not putting it on the rim.
    Sprinkle with pecans. Bake in a 270\u00b0 oven for 1 hour or longer, until brown and crisp. Cool on rack until cold.
