Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
2 oz. red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and beat well.
Sift flour, salt and cocoa.
Add alternately to creamed mixture with buttermilk.
Add vanilla and food coloring.
Fold in soda-vinegar mixture (do not beat).
Pour batter into two greased 9-inch pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
