Pecan Crisps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. bread flour (unsifted)
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg yolk
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. nutmeats, broken
    3 Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour and sugar together; work in shortening until consistency of cornmeal.
    Mix egg yolk, milk and vanilla; add to dry ingredients to make soft dough.
    Roll out to 1/8-inch thickness on floured canvas cloth.
    Take fingers and spread with unbeaten egg white.
    Cut into small squares and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Cover top of squares with nutmeats and press them down.
    Bake at 350\u00b0; watch carefully.
