Ground Beef Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. diced onion
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. shredded cabbage
    1 c. diced celery
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
    1/4 c. rice
    3 c. water
    4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Cook beef, onion and bay leaf; drain off fat.
    Add rest of ingredients; bring to a boil.
    Cover and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 1 hour.
