8 chicken drumsticks (1 1/2 lb.)
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
vegetable oil (as needed)
2/3 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Preparation

Place chicken in a 9-inch square baking dish; pour buttermilk over meat.
Cover and chill for 1 to 2 hours, turning occasionally.
Drain.
Combine flour, salt, pepper and onion powder in a plastic bag.
Add chicken to bag, close tight and shake to coat.
Heat 1 inch oil in a large skillet to 325\u00b0; add chicken and cook about 10 minutes.
Turn once, cover, reduce heat and cook 20 minutes, turning often.
Remove cover and cook 3 more minutes.
Drain chicken on paper towels.
Makes about 4 servings.
