Chinese Chewies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening or margarine
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream sugar and margarine.
    Add eggs, then flour and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
    Add nuts.
    Bake in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes.
    They will look like they fell.
    Let cool; cut into squares.
