Yum Yum Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. crushed pineapple
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. unpeeled apple
    1 box lemon jello
    8 oz. cream cheese
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    few maraschino cherries, chopped
    1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
Preparation
    Bring to a boil pineapple and sugar.
    Add jello and cream cheese.
    Let cool.
    Add apples, nuts and Cool Whip.
    Pour into a greased mold and chill.
    When you start to serve, put cherries on top.
