Spiced English Walnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 lb. walnuts (3 c.)
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, salt, cinnamon and milk, stirring constantly.
    Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then boil, (10 minutes), without stirring, until the syrup forms a soft ball in cold water (234\u00b0 to 240\u00b0).
    Remove the pan from the heat, and add the nuts and vanilla.
    Spread the candy out on wax paper.
    Let cool before cutting.
