Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped celery
    2 medium green bell peppers, chopped
    2 cloves garlic
    1/4 c. butter or oleo
    1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
    1 c. water
    2 tsp. parsley
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
    2 bay leaves (optional)
    1 tsp. basil (optional)
    1 lb. shrimp, cleaned
    3 c. hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Cook and stir onions, celery, green peppers and garlic in butter until tender.
    Remove from heat; add tomato sauce, water and remaining seasonings.
    Simmer uncovered 10 minutes.
    Add more water if needed.
    Stir in shrimp. Heat to boiling.
    Cover and cook over medium heat 10 to 20 minutes or until shrimp are pink and tender.
    Serve over rice.
    Makes 6 servings.
