Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. Crisco
    3 eggs
    1 c. seedless jam
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift dry ingredients together; set aside.
    Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs together and use mixer for 4 minutes at high speed.
    Stir in jam and dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in nuts and raisins.
    Pour into three 9-inch layer cake pans lined with waxed paper.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
