Cabbage Kraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage, sliced thin
    1 onion, sliced or chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 red pepper, chopped
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. vinegar
    10 lb. cabbage
    5 onions
    5 peppers
    1/2 gal. vinegar
    1 c. water
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1 1/2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Boil the vinegar, turmeric, mustard seed, celery seed, salt and sugar together. Pour over the cabbage, onion and peppers. Cool. Put in a crock or jar. Put in refrigerator or other cool place. Lasts indefinitely.
