Banana Split Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 oz. box vanilla wafers, crushed
    3/4 c. melted margarine
    2 c. powdered sugar
    1 c. softened margarine
    2 eggs
    5 bananas, sliced
    20 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
    13 oz. Cool Whip
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
    maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Combine wafers and melted margarine; press onto bottom and sides (halfway up) 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Combine powdered sugar, softened margarine and eggs; beat on high speed 15 minutes.
    Do not underbeat!
    Spread sugar mixture on top of crust.
    Top with bananas.
    Cover with pineapple.
    Spread Cool Whip over fruit and sprinkle with nuts and cherries.
