Hot Water Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. stone ground cornmeal
2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
milk
3 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Stir cornmeal into boiling water in medium saucepan.
Add shortening and enough milk to make a stiff batter.
Form into small 1/2-inch thick cakes.
Fry on hot greased griddle.
Turn when brown on bottom.
