Pinto Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. bag pinto beans
    1 pkg. salt jowl (small)
    1 small onion
    1 small bell pepper
    1 pkg. taco mix
    1 large can Wolfe Brand chili (without beans)
    ground beef or chuck (optional)
Preparation
    Sort beans; wash.
    Put in a large pan of cold water.
    Add salt jowl, onion, bell pepper and taco mix.
    Put top on pan and bring to boil.
    Lower heat and simmer 2 1/2 hours.
    Put in can of Wolfe Brand chili and/or ground beef or chuck.
    Let simmer another 30 minutes to an hour.
