Sugared Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 1/2 c. unsalted mixed nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Grease baking sheet; set aside.
    Combine sugar and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Cook, stirring occasionally, until water evaporates and nuts are sugary (approximately 12 minutes).
    Spread nuts on sheet, separating them.
    Let stand until cool.
    Flavors can be added. Makes 1 pound.
