Icebox Oatmeal Crisp Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. plain flour
    2 well beaten eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    3 c. quick cook oatmeal
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add oatmeal and nuts. Mix well. Roll in wax paper in two slender round rolls and chill overnight. Then cut into thin round pieces and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
