Marinated Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    1 large green pepper (optional)
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    2 carrots, grated
    1 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Shred cabbage and place in large bowl.
    Slice onion and pepper; grate carrots.
    Place over top of cabbage.
    Sprinkle sugar over raw vegetables (do not stir).
    Bring vinegar, salad oil, dry mustard, celery seed and salt to boil.
    Pour over cabbage while hot (do not stir).
    When cool, refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.
    Stir well to blend before serving.
    Drain off liquid before serving.
    Will keep a week or more in refrigerator.
