Maggie'S Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (no substitutes)
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 beaten egg
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar.
    Add beaten egg.
    Add flour, sifted with cream of tartar and soda.
    Chill for 2 hours.
    Roll very thin and bake at 375\u00b0 until very lightly browned.
    (Dough can be re-rolled.)
    Trim with outlines of confectioners sugar icing and trim with sugar and non-pareils.
