Mexican Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. suet
    2 lb. beef, cut in cubes
    1/2 c. flour
    8 c. water
    6 onions, diced
    4 potatoes, diced
    4 carrots, diced
    salt to taste
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 clove garlic, minced
Preparation
    Cook the suet in a kettle over medium heat until fat is rendered.
    Roll the beef in flour and add to suet.
    Cook, stirring, until brown.
    Add the water and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer until the beef is tender.
    Add remaining ingredients and cook until the vegetables are tender.
