Lemon Cloud Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8-inch baked pie shell
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    2 slightly beaten egg yolks
    4 oz. cream cheese
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    In
    saucepan, combine 3/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, water, lemon rind, lemon juice and egg yolks.
    Cook over medium heat; stir constantly\tuntil thick.
    Remove from heat.
    Add 4 ounces cream cheese; blend well.
    Beat egg whites.
    Add 1/2 cup sugar (beat stiff).
    Fold into lemon mixture.
    Spoon into pie shell; chill for 2 hours.
