Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. round or sirloin, cut 2-inches thick
1/2 c. flour
salt to taste
1/4 c. ham or bacon drippings
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 green pepper, chopped fine
1 c. boiling water
1 c. canned tomatoes
Preparation

Mix flour and seasonings and pound thoroughly in meat.
Heat drippings and brown meat on both sides.
Add onion, green pepper, boiling water and tomatoes.
Cover and cook slowly over very low flame for 2 hours.
