Ingredients

1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugars and cream together until fluffy. Mix in egg.
Add flour and salt.
Mix well.
Add chocolate chips, vanilla and nuts; mix thoroughly.
Drop teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 approximately 10 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Place on baking rack until completely cool.
