Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    50 small cucumbers
    3 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    pickling spice
Preparation
    Cover cucumbers in salt solution of 1/3 cup salt to each quart of water.
    Let stand 12 hours (overnight).
    Drain and dry. Combine vinegar, water and sugar.
    Boil 10 minutes or until clear. Add cucumbers and let stand at low heat until they lose the green color and turn yellowish.
    Put 1/2 teaspoon per pint jar (1 teaspoon per quart jar) of pickling spice in bottom of jar.
    Add cucumbers.
    Cover with the hot syrup and seal jars.
