Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 lb. Spanish peanuts
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Boil sugar, corn syrup, water and salt to 250\u00b0.
    Add 1 pound peanuts; cook to 280\u00b0, then add 1/4 cup butter and vanilla.
    Cook to 285\u00b0 to 290\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon baking soda. Pour onto 3 buttered baking sheets.
    Pull out thin as mixture cools.
    When completely cooled, break into pieces and store in airtight containers.
