Chicken Soup With Almonds - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. blanched almonds, finely chopped
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 c. chicken broth
    1 tsp. minced onion
    1 bay leaf, finely crushed
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    1 c. half and half or light cream
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Melt the butter in a saucepan; add almonds and very lightly brown.
    Set aside.\tIn a large saucepan, add the chicken broth, onion, bay leaf and almond mixture.
    Simmer for 15 minutes.
    Stir flour and 1/4 cup of the milk until well blended.
    Add the flour mixture, remainder of the milk, half and half, salt and pepper. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes or until hot.
    Yields 6 servings.
