Becky'S Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sugar
2 egg whites
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt

Preparation

In 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water and salt. Cook, stirring, until mixture boils.
Cook over medium heat to 260\u00b0 without stirring.
As temperature nears 250\u00b0, beat egg whites to stiff peaks in large mixing bowl.
Gradually pour hot syrup in a thin stream over egg whites, beating at high speed of electric mixer.
Add vanilla.
Beat 4 to 5 minutes more or until mixture holds shape.
Drop from a teaspoon onto wax paper or spread in a buttered 10 x 6 x 2-inch pan.
Cool and cut.
