Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk or enough to cover tomato slices
3 or 4 green tomatoes, sliced
2 Tbsp. oil for frying
Preparation

Slice tomatoes into bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let stand about 5 minutes. Mix flour and salt. Take each tomato slice from milk and dredge in flour mixture. Place slices on wax paper and let stand until flour is moist. Pour enough oil in pan to cover bottom. Heat oil until ready for frying and place slices in pan. Cook until tomatoes are browned on each side. Drain and serve warm.
