Texas Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk (sour milk or half sour cream and milk)
1/2 c. sweet milk
1 egg
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 c. melted shortening
Preparation

Mix thoroughly the cornmeal, flour and salt, then add balance of ingredients without mixing.
Grease muffin pans or cornstick pans well and heat.
Stir mixture thoroughly and pour into the hot pan.
Bake at 450\u00b0 until done.
The bread will be moist and brown on the bottom.
