Apple Compote - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium apples
    1 lemon
    1 c. water
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water to syrup.
    Add sliced lemon.
    While lemon is cooking, core, peel and quarter apples.
    Add apples to syrup and cook until tender.
    Good either hot or cold.
