Cornbread Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 egg
    enough buttermilk to make thick batter
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients.
    Stir until well blended.
    Heat oil in skillet and add batter to form pancakes.
    Cook until golden brown and slightly firm.
    Good with fresh vegetables and dried beans.
