Texas Disaster Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. oleo
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. orange peel
1/2 c. coconut
1 lb. dates
3/4 c. flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 c. nuts

Preparation

Combine sugar, butter, flour, eggs and peel. Beat until fluffy. Add soda to buttermilk and add to other mixture. Add coconut, nuts and dates, pour into 9 x 13 greased pan and bake at 300 to 325\u00b0 for 50-60 minutes. Serve in squares with whipped topping or ice cream. Serves 12-14.
