Black Walnut Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. white sugar
    2 c. milk
    2 c. white Karo
    1 cubic inch paraffin, shaved
    2 envelopes gelatin
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. finely chopped black walnuts
Preparation
    Bring sugar, milk, Karo and paraffin to a boil in large kettle then add gelatin that has been soaked in the water.
    Cook stirring constantly until it reaches 260\u00b0 by candy thermometer.
    Remove from fire and add vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into 2 greased pans to cool.
    Pull fast until light in color.
    FUN for the \"old-fashioned\" taffy pull!
