World War Ii Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. dark brown sugar
water
1/3 c. shortening
1 to 2 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda

Preparation

In a saucepan, mix brown sugar, 1 1/2 cups water, shortening, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Bring to a boil and continue boiling for 3 minutes.
Set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
