Gigi'S Crock-Pot Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. navy beans
    4 to 5 qt. water
    2 lb. meaty ham bones
    1/2 to 1 lb. cut up ham chunks, cooked
    garlic powder to taste
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. pepper
    2 bay leaves
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    1 to 2 chopped onions
    1 to 2 c. cut up raw carrots
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight.
    Drain beans.
    Put all ingredients in 5 to 6-quart crock-pot and add water to top.
    Cover, turn on high and cook for 6 to 8 hours (or longer).
    Mash beans lightly after about 3 hours of cooking to thicken the soup.
