Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    3 large onions
    3 to 4 large carrots
    approximately 1/2 head cabbage
    3 stalks celery
    3 to 4 potatoes
    1 large can corn, drained
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    3 small cans tomato sauce
    1 or 2 small cans tomato paste (optional)
    5 c. water
    oregano, basil, salt, pepper and thyme
Preparation
    Brown beef in Dutch oven; do not drain fat.
    Chop onions (large chunks), slice carrots, shred cabbage, slice celery and dice potatoes.
    Add all ingredients to beef mixture.
    Cook, covered, for 1 hour.
    Remove cover; cook 1 hour more.
