Pineapple Upside-Down Cake(Serves 8) - cooking recipe

18 oz. can sliced pineapple
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Drain pineapple; reserve liquid.
Half the slices.
Melt butter in 9 x 1 1/2-inch round baking pan.
Stir in brown sugar and 1 tablespoon pineapple liquid to make 2/3 up.
Arrange pineapple in pan.
