1 c. (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
2 1/2 c. oatmeal (Quick or old fashioned; uncooked)
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Beat margarine and sugars until creamy.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.
Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts; mix well.
Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
