Great Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. chopped squash
    2 c. chopped onions
    2 c. vinegar
    4 large bell peppers, chopped
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Mix onions and squash.
    Sprinkle with 1/4 cup salt; set aside for 1 hour.
    Drain off liquid.
    Mix vinegar, sugar, celery seed, mustard seed and pepper in saucepan.
    Bring to boil.
    Add squash and onion; bring back to boil.
    Put in clean jars and seal with hot lid.
