Banana Split Cake - cooking recipe

1 pt. vanilla ice cream
3/4 c. walnuts
1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
7 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. plus 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 ripe medium bananas
1 pt. chocolate ice cream
1 pt. strawberry ice cream
6 maraschino cherries (for garnish)
Preparation

Early in day or day ahead, soften vanilla ice cream in refrigerator, about 40 minutes.
Finely chop 1/2 cup walnuts, reserving remaining 1/4 cup for garnish later.
In 9-inch spring-form pan, combine chopped nuts, graham cracker crumbs, 3 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons sugar.
With fingers, press mixture to bottom of pan.
Evenly spread vanilla ice cream on top of crust; freeze until firm, about 45 minutes.
