Tomato Soup Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. lard
    2 c. flour
    1 can tomato soup
    1/2 can water
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Cream lard and sugar.
    Mix all dry ingredients except soda and add to creamed mixture.
    Add soda to soup and mix well.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Add the water and mix.
    Add dates and nuts. Bake at 350\u00b0 about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes up dry from the center of the cake.
