No Fail Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 to 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients.
    Roll thin and cut into small squares. Let dry 1 or 2 hours.
    Drop in boiling broth.
    Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
    Do not remove lid during cooking.
