Chicken Continental - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. broccoli
    1 Tbsp. flour
    dash of pepper
    1 c. undiluted evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp. soft butter
    3 chicken breasts, cooked and sliced
    1/4 c. sliced blanched almonds
    1/4 c. sharp grated Cheddar cheese
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Cook broccoli as directed.
    Melt 1 tablespoon butter in saucepan over low heat.
    Add flour, salt and pepper.
    Stir until smooth.
    Slowly add evaporated milk; continue stirring.
    Cook until thick; remove from heat.
    Beat egg yolks and slowly stir in a little of the hot sauce.
    Stir in remaining hot sauce, butter and lemon juice.
    Pour vegetables into buttered baking dish.
    Top with slices of chicken.
    Sprinkle with almonds; cover with sauce and top with grated cheese.
    Place under broiler until sauce is bubbly and lightly browned on top.
