Orange Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 compressed yeast cake
1/4 c. lukewarm water
2 tsp. grated orange rind
2 c. orange juice (lukewarm)
1/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. melted shortening
6 c. flour (I add eggs, potato flakes, wheat germ and ground oatmeal)
Preparation

Soften yeast in warm water.
Add orange rind, orange juice, sugar, salt and shortening.
Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.
Knead about 10 minutes.
Place dough in a warm greased bowl.
Brush with melted shortening.
Cover and let rise double in bulk.
Punch dough down.
Divide in two equal portions and mold into balls.
Let rest closely covered for 10 minutes.
Shape into loaves.
Place in 2 greased loaf pans.
Let rise 1 hour.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
