Vienna Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 large eggs
3 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla essence
1 tsp. almond essence
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour three 9-inch layer pans. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Combine liquids together.
Mix the creamed mixture alternating with flour and milk.
Beat after each addition until batter is smooth, scraping bowl occasionally.
Pour in prepared pans.
Bake for 40 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center of each cake comes out clean.
Cool in pan a few minutes.
Turn out onto wire rack. Cut each layer in half.
Fill with your favorite jam.
Cover top and sides lavishly with vanilla icing.
Serves 16.
