Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. stale bread
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 c. sugar
    dash of nutmeg
    raisins (optional)
    2 c. hot milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put the bread and milk in a buttered baking dish and let stand a few minutes.
    Mix the egg, sugar and salt.
    Add vanilla.
    Add to first mixture.
    Dot the top with butter and bake at 350\u00b0 until the top is brown.
    Serves 4.
