Pecan Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg, separated
1 tsp. of vanilla or almond flavoring
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until smooth and light.
Beat in egg yolk, flavoring and flour until well mixed.
Pat evenly into a pan (8 x 8).
Beat the egg white slightly and brush over the dough. Sprinkle the pecans evenly on top and press them in the dough slightly.
Bake 16 to 18 minutes at 375\u00b0 or until golden brown. Cool in pan and cut into squares.
