Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put raisins in a pan of water; boil for a few minutes.
    Drain. Cream sugar and butter; add eggs, milk and dry ingredients.
    Mix well; add nuts and raisins.
    Bake in 3 layers at 325\u00b0 until done. Let cool.
