Hattie'S Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. cocoa
2/3 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
3 c. milk
9-inch cooked pie shell
1/3 c. sugar
Preparation

Mix flour, 3/4 cup sugar, cocoa, egg yolks and salt in top of double boiler with about 1/2 cup milk.
Stir mix to reduce lumping.
Put on top of boiler.
Add rest of milk; whisk until thick.
Add vanilla.
Pour into cooked pie shell.
Beat egg whites with 1/3 cup sugar until stiff to make meringue.
Place on top of pie; bake at 450\u00b0 until golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes.
